How the state office of the Indiana Youth Services Association supports the member agencies
Networking and Collaboration

Cooperating with and assisting community-based organizations to lay groundwork for expansion of the Youth Service Bureau system throughout Indiana

Cooperating and working with state government agencies on matters of mutual concern regarding vulnerable youth and youth-related issues

Developing and sustaining positive and cooperative working relationships with other youth-serving organizations in Indiana

Linking IYSA and, as appropriate, the member Youth Service Bureaus to national youth serving organizations

Developing, maintaining and strengthening effectiveness of the statewide Board
Orientation and Training

Training and assistance for staff regarding youth service programs, bureau management, skill development and other special staff needs, as appropriate

Implementing statewide staff development programs

Providing professional development opportunities for YSB directors

Providing assistance and guidance with directional planning by the Bureaus

Orienting and training new YSB directors
-
Helping Bureaus provided effective orientation for their boards and staff
Association Management

Generating active participation of voting members and managing effective interaction for the good of all.

Maintaining relations with government offices and public policy makers which sustain and increase public investment in Youth Service Bureaus

Implementing and maintaining procedures to set and monitor performance standards for Youth Service Bureaus.

Directing the Board activities toward issues essential to the life and well being of the Association.

Supporting the work of statewide committees.

Supporting the goals and needs of Youth Service Bureaus in fulfillment of their missions.

Implementing and maintaining financial accounting systems that fully document use of all Association funds and ensuring sound financial management.
Fundraising (Development and Outreach)

Generating funding from diverse sources to ensure the health and stability of the Association

Cooperating with and assisting member Youth Service Bureaus in establishing and sustaining financial stability and health.

Developing and maintaining external relationships with decision-makers and civic and social leaders throughout the state.
