Striving for Change

Posted by Jamesha Harris on Mar 28, 2017

Our Youth Service Bureaus are positively impacting the lives' of many youth on a daily basis from direct care services to advocating for them at them at the policy level. We would like to recognize Aja Ellington from Youth Service Bureau of St. Joseph County for her excellent work and dedication to serving youth. Aja Ellington is a Youth Advisor for the National Advisory Youth Council, a program of the National Network for Youth. This program was designed to connect young leaders with lawmakers, service providers and community officials who create policy solutions. Recently, Aja had the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. and meet with legislators to advocate for homeless youth not only in her area, but nation-wide. Thank you, Aja for your dedication, time, and effort to help create a place where all youth can feel safe! Through coordination with the National Coordination for Youth, Aja is available for speaking engagements. If you are interested, please contact the YSB of St. Joseph County.
