Lilly Endowment Grant
January 2010 - IYSA is pleased to announce that the Lilly Endowment continues to support its efforts to strengthen and enhance the ability of member agencies to deliver critical delinquency prevention and advocacy services to Hoosier youth. The foundaton recently awarded IYSA $425,000 to support key strategic initiatives. The IYSA board of directors and staff thank the Lilly Endowment for this grant and the opportunity to continue to find innovative ways to support its core mission. IYSA advocates for youth on Capitol Hill
Members of IYSA joined their colleagues at the 2010 National Network for Youth Symposium Jan. 24-27 to discuss critical issues effecting troubled youth, funding challenges, and the legislative agenda. On Wednesday members gathered on Capitol Hill to meet with their state's Congressional representatives to educate them on pertinent issues.
Children's Bureau Inc. celebrates grand opening
The Children's Bureau is celebrating the opening of the Gene Glick Family Support Center. This state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly facility replaces the older building that previously housed the Family Support Center on the same grounds. One of just a handful of children’s shelters in the Midwest, the Gene Glick Family Support Center is the first of its kind in Indiana, offering preventive and support services for parents and caring for children in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
