Advocacy

What you can do to help advocate for Youth Services in your local community.

ADVOCACY

Core to the mission of IYSA is advocating for policies and activities that support positive youth development and support our focus on prevention programming. To that end IYSA works with its stakeholders, including the Indiana General Assembly to:

  • Ensure policies or bills being considered are in the best interest of Hoosier Youth
  • Suggest policy that enhances prevention programming and/or youth development
  • Support initiatives that increase educational opportunities for children and youth
  • Lobby for budget line items that support member youth service bureaus so they can continue to do critical work
  • Advocate for juvenile justice policies that protect youth and are in their best interest
  • Educate our legislators on the work of youth service bureaus and its statewide impact
  • Work with other agencies and associations focused on excellent youth development policy
